Webinar 26 August 15:00 CEST about the ACT3 Call
The webinar will be arranged by the ACT coordinator as a Teams meeting. The webinar will include a 20 minutes presentation of the ACT3 Call followed by a Q&A session. The webinar will be recorded and published at the ACT website.

The webinar will mainly be a repetition of a previous webinar available from this link.
Webinar 28 August targeting applicants from India

The ACT consortium welcomes India as partner and contributor to ACT3 Call
/The ACT consortium welcomes India as partner and contributor to the ACT third call (ACT3). The Department of Science & Technology (on behalf of Indian Federal Ministry of Science & Technology) will make available funds of approx. 1,0 M€ to the ACT3 Call. Read more here. New ACT3 Call out now!
/Following the successful ACT1 and ACT2 calls in 2016 and 2018 respectively, which resulted in twenty research projects being funded, the New ACT Call invites transnational research proposals that address the technological, environmental, social and economic challenges required to accelerate CCUS.
The intention is that new projects funded through the new ACT Call will make a significant contribution to establish CCUS as an international climate change mitigation tool.
The ACT community has welcomed new members since its first call. The following countries and regions participate in the new ACT Call: the Canadian province of Alberta, Europe’s Nordic Countries via Nordic Energy Research, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

Report highlights 20 Years of CCS Research & Development in USA
/A recently released report, “Safe Geologic Storage of Captured Carbon Dioxide: Two Decades of DOE’s Carbon Storage R&D Program in Review” dives into how the department and NETL and other national laboratories, research organizations, and industry stakeholders have worked collaboratively to meet the challenge of addressing the emission of greenhouse gases while ensuring the continued use of fossil fuels that underpin our nation’s economic prosperity.

Five projects selected for funding from US DoE under the CarbonSAFE initiative
/Five applications were selected for negotiations from the FOA under the CarbonSAFE initiative, which seeks to characterize storage complexes of at least 50 million metric tons and accelerate wide-scale deployment of CCUS. Read more here
Funding opportunity for CCUS R&D projects from US Department of Energy
/The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Fossil Energy announced up to $131 million for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) research and development (R&D) projects through one new funding opportunity announcement (FOA) and the winners of five project selections from a previous FOA. Funding opportunities on Direct Air Capture (DAC)
/The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced plans to provide up to $22 million for research aimed at achieving breakthroughs in the effort to capture carbon dioxide directly from ambient air. Read more here
Elegancy Webinar Series on CCS and Hydrogen
/The Elegancy ACT project will present its findings on CCS and hydrogen in a webinar series. The series starts off on 18 June with a presentation of key findings and recommendations and it includes high-level participation from the European Commission and Forschungzentrum Jülich. Read more here

Pre-ACT webinars
/The Pre-ACT project (www.sintef.no/pre-act) will during the spring of 2020 arrange a series of webinars summarizing important findings from nearly three years of research on topics ranging from CO2 pre-injection modelling/experimental studies and novel monitoring concepts, to conformance verification strategies, decision making guidelines, and storage case studies in the North Sea. The webinars are open to all and include a Q&A, as an efficient means of communication in times of travel/event restrictions.

Capturing CO₂ from waste-to-energy discussed in UK Parliament
/Last month, in the UK Parliament a debate was held concerning waste incineration facilities and issues of the relationship between the WtE sector and CO₂ emissions and CCS were raised. Read more here
Report on second Pre-ACT Stakeholder Meeting
/The 2nd Pre-ACT Stakeholder meeting held on 10 October 2019 in Brussels was well attended by policy/law makers from the EC/European Parliament, industry (oil-gas companies), R&D institutes/universities, NGOs and ACT project partners. Read more here
New ACT2 projects selected for funding
/Following a rigorous two stage evaluation process, twelve (12) projects submitted for the Second ACT call were selected by an independent international panel. The new ACT2 projects cover a wide range of the CCUS area. Read more here
