ACT is an international initiative to establish CO2 capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) as a tool to combat global warming.
ACT means Accelerating CCS Technologies, and the ambition of the 13 partners is to fund research and innovation projects that can lead to safe and cost-effective technology.
The first ACT Call for project proposals was published in 2016 and resulted in eight new projects that were started autumn 2017. Read more about the ACT funded projects under projects in the top menu.
The second ACT Call was published June 2018. The budget for the call is up to € 30 M and the due date for the first stage of the submission of applications was 12 September 2018. Twenty six proposals were received for the second stage of the ACT second call. The decision will be communicated to the applicants by the Call Secretariat at the Research Council of Norway in the end of June 2019. The successful proposals are foreseen to start in September 2019.
A new call is planned in 2020. This will be a great opportunity for everybody that has a unique idea for developing CCUS technology.
